The blue trim is pretty awesome isn't it? Yeah, too bad it's just primer. I think some folks in the neighborhood are starting to think it's the real color. Our new neighbors Steve and Dana have told us they're the Q&A team on the block, having to answer questions about the new house and neighbors on one side and the windmill on the other. "Yes we've met them, they're nice. No I don't think that's the real trim color. No I don't mind the windmill. Yes it spins. Yes it is starting to lean in the direction of where I park my car."
As for progress this week, it's been a little slow. The low voltage guys from Brinks who wire the alarm system, phone, cable, etc. never pulled a permit for their work so we failed the electrical inspection last week. Insulation and drywall were supposed to start this week, but they can't until the electrical inspection passes. So the permit is now on site and we're just waiting for the inspection again. I hope we pass this time. Maybe insulation and drywall will be next week.
The outside has been moving along though. The siding is almost done. Those guys just have to finish putting the cedar shingles in 2 of the gables and then finish the siding in the front once the front door is in. We're still waiting on that to arrive.
Brick started this week which is pretty cool. The whole basement level will be wrapped in brick including around the front porch. Brick and siding are our first "finish" materials to go up which is cool because you can really start to tell what it's going to look like when it's done. Now if we can only get to that point on the inside. Once drywall is in we can start flooring!
